Hiiiiii~~~~

Back from my trip… ok, been back for 2 weeks now but who’s counting =p

My trip was great. Ended up finding my friends after a long and interesting searching process. I really enjoyed spending time with them, which made me depressed for a long time after coming back. Even had a minor nervous breakdown at work the first day, just started bawling in front of my coworker and freaked her out.

Went to this huge New Year’s party with like 160,000 ppl in Taipei, were squished like sardines. Saw lots of famous people, no, Jay Chou wasn’t here, too bad so sad. Never been to a Chinese concert so that was definitely interesting.

Spent much of the time traveling by myself as usual. Met this nice Californian family in Hualian in my tour group. Scenery wasn’t too impressive, but it was good to see a different side of Taiwan, considering Taipei and Kaohsiung, the other two cities I went to, were quite large, which made them quite similar to every other large metropolitan city I’ve visited. Hualian wasn’t too small, but… I saw cows by the riverside. Which was definitely not something I could have seen in Taipei (I don’t think).

Taipei itself? I wish I had more time to see it all. The dock was very beautiful, although I didn’t have a chance to taste all the good food I heard about a few hours too late. The night markets were awesome, it’s so nice to see such a lively place. But what I found so dear was just being able to understand all the random conversations going around me, on the subway, on the street, in the store… You have no idea what a wonderful feeling that is after 6 months in this place.

I went to Kaohsiung to visit one of my friends. I haven’t seen her for three years. It was amazing to see her after so long. Our lives are so different now. It made me think how things can change so quickly, how one decision can make two parallel paths go in completely different directions. But I’m so glad we were still able to talk about almost everything.

Almost – I realized I can never talk to anyone about everything now.

Argh argh argh I don’t like writing travelogs.

Pix are here btw.
