The Strange World of Figure Skating

So after some expensive but great sushi (I love Sushi Sake, cannot resist that place), I come back home to watch my favorite winter sport — figure skating and developed an instant dislike for Japan (not really, more like a temporary disdain that I can’t help having).

I wanted Irina to win!
Just like I wanted Michelle to win in Nagano and Salt Lake.
Or at least Sasha.
But then this random Arakawa comes out of nowhere.
I just don’t like her.
Once in a while I’m entitled to be prejudiced for absolutely no reason.
Sue me.

I think the figure skating world is cursed.
Russia will never sweep all four events.
The favorite will never win the women’s gold.
The best position is actually 4th after the short program.

I’m sad. Gonna go watch Lakers game instead. >______< P.S. Grudges aside, anyone interested in spending $145 on a COI ticket in July? ^_^ (If you don't know what COI is, don't bother :P)

That’s true in many sporting events b/c there’s less expectation and pressure to take #1. Everyone is focused on the top ranked. Then the underdog steals it!

  2. Julie, I am so disappointed in you. How can you not love Arakawa-san? Maybe it takes a guy to love her. This guy does.

  3. PK~yeah… it’s so sad… they should have like a cumulative system or something 😛

syncbyte~maybe… she looks so cocky though!
