A few notes

1.

I miss The Wire. Considering I had only started it a month ago, it’s amazing how attached I am to the story and its characters. Attached in an awkward, “I wouldn’t really want to be friends with any of you, but I miss eavesdropping into your lives” sort of way.

No one’s perfect, and thus a system built by imperfect people remains imperfect. Sometimes you see a glimmer of hope and then it turns into something real. Most of the time it disappoints. Yet we continue hoping.

2.

After reading Vance’s biography of Elon Musk, I decided I’m going to keep my Tesla stocks. Not that I was planning to sell it, especially after yesterday’s announcement.

I just like to think that I’m supporting a grand dream by someone who just might be able to accomplish it.

3.

I’m disappointed that I did not like Jack Kerouac’s On the Road as much as I anticipated. I thought I would find lots in common with the protagonist. After all, being on the road is the biggest joy of my life. I did not.

I did gain some perspective, of course. I don’t think there’s any experience (or learning of someone else’s perspective) that would have absolutely zero effect on your perspective. It just wasn’t anything profound.

It made me sad. The story itself, and my disappointment itself.

P.S.

The picture is from a rather random art exhibit. I’m not quite sure why I chose it. I think Kerouac’s rubbing off on me.
